Atlanta Railcar Transportation (LLC) Motorcar Excursion
on the Heart of Georgia Railroad

Pitts, Georgia April 12-13, 2008

Approximately 250 miles total$170.00

Join us for two full days of railroading in south central Georgia. We'll see plenty of farms (cotton, soybean, watermelon, and maybe onion) and lots of hardwood and pine forests. We will base out of Pitts, some 14 miles east of Cordele (exit 101 on I-75) and do and out-and-back each day. We will cross three big rivers (for Georgia, anyway), a lake, and four diamonds. A highlight of the trip will be on Sunday when we travel to Plains.

Saturday, April 12. Set-on at Pitts, Georgia. We will run east, taking a rest break at Helena (McRae) and crossing the NS diamond there. We will continue east to Alamo for lunch and turn-around. There are restaurants across the street from the tracks. Food, gas, and mini-marts are in easy waking distance. On this day we will cross the Ocmulgee and Little Ocmulgee Rivers and see several small towns. Upon arrival at Pitts, cars will be left on the tracks.

Sunday, April 13. We will depart Pitts westbound, going through the cities of Cordele and Americus, reaching our turn-around at Plains. Lunch is in Plains and the restaurant is in easy walking distance. This day we will cross the Flint River at Lake Blackshear and three diamonds in Cordele. Upon arrival Sunday afternoon in Pitts, we will set off, say our good byes and you are on your own.

Please note these requirements:

Cost: $170.00 for all both days. Sorry, but we cannot split the days out. No refunds after March 12, 2008

Registration forms are available in PDF and MicroSoft Word format.
